Service Tools: Forklift

When operating the forklift, it is important to keep in mind forklift consideration for the safety of the operator, the load and the dealership personnel. For full safety guidelines please work with forklift manufacturer.

Forklift Requirements

Participating Dealer must own, lease or attest to being able to access within 48 hours when needed, at least one (1) 8,000-lb forklift for use within the Dealership Premises along with ample space to maneuver the forklift between service bays. The forklift must have arms that are at least 1.8 metres (6-ft) long.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 1,928 kg (4,250 lbs) approximately at 315 cm (124-in) of height with a load centre of ~122 cm (48-in) (max) lengthwise.
  • Fork Width and Thickness: to accommodate the EL-53080 battery lift system and HV battery crate, fork width and thickness must not exceed the dimensions in the following table:
  • Manufacturer certification of capability.
  • Accommodate load centre based on any accessory on the forks or on the mast.
Fork Width (W)Fork Thickness (T)
< 165 mm (6.5")Up to 76 mm (3") Thick
165 – 203 mm (6.5" – 8")Up to 57 mm (2.25") Thick

Forks wider than 203 mm (8") are incompatible with the EL-53080 battery lift system and HV battery crate.

Other Considerations

  • 6-ft forks need to be movable to wide and narrow configuration
  • Side-shifting fork positioner
  • Lugged tires for inclement weather
  • 3-Stage mast (triplex) forklift
